Westway Ford Sponsors the 21st Annual Dash for Dignity
The 21st Annual Dash for Dignity 5K/1-mile Fun Run took place on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Urban Towers Gym. A popular event held every fall, the Dash is organized to help raise funds for the Citizen Development Center, a non-profit organization that caters to adults with mental and physical disabilities within the community. Since the event debuted in Irving-Las Colinas years ago, it has steadily grown and now over 800 participants attend the race each season. Westway Ford was a proud sponsor of the Dash and we’ll continue to support its efforts each year, benefiting the Irving-Las Colinas community.
From Formula One to rallying, Ford has a long history in motorsports and the brand has collected numerous wins throughout the years in a series of high-profile races. During the 1960's, Ford hit a lucky streak when they won one of the oldest sports car races in history, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, four times in a row with the help of the Ford GT40, but following the wins, the company never experienced the same success. The automaker eventually bowed out of Le Mans; however, just recently there's been talks that Ford may be jumping back into the race to compete in the LMP2 category.
Drivers who have recently purchased a Ford as of July 1, 2014 may have just struck gold, because Ford has just announced that they will be offering a "Lifetime Brake Pad Guarantee" with each new car, truck or SUV. Offered at Ford and Lincoln dealerships, as well as Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers, the new program will give Ford customers the chance to receive free brake pad replacement throughout their car's lifespan, saving them money in the long run. The offer applies exclusively to Ford, Mercury and Lincoln models, and is available now throughout the country.
