According to HIS Automotive, Ford leads all brands with an industry-high 64-percent owner loyalty, followed by Mercedes-Benz and Toyota, each with 57.8-percent loyalty. But why such strong retention with Ford? Barton Hankins, Westway Ford managing partner, attributes Ford's success to technology.
"Ford has been the leader in car technology since the release of their SYNC technology in 2007," said Hankins. "Being able to have a tiny on-board computer that allows you to have access to your phone and complete navigation capabilities is what sets Ford apart from the rest of the industry. They truly lead the way (and still do today) in car technology while everyone else is still trying to catch up."
Preventing car collisions may become a bit easier thanks to a newly developed app called WiFi Honk. Created by students at the University of Missouri, the smartphone tool works by using a series of audio and visual alerts to notify both drivers and pedestrians when they're on the brink of a collision, helping to reduce potential accidents.
